GlovePIE is a program that maps key presses to your glove or joystick movements.

If you’re into PC gaming you’ve probably used something like Xpadder to map and bind your gamepad controls to keyboard controls and enjoy more games – but GlovePIE takes it further.

GlovePIE simulates mouse movements and keypresses by mapping these to your glove controller, giving you more control than ever before (and saving you a lot of time, too!)

The beauty of the program rests in the easy-to-use GlovePIE script. We know what you’re thinking, “Scripting? That sounds hard!” Trust us though, this is one of the easiest scripting languages you’ll ever have to master. All you have to do is bind certain keys and movements (think with the mouse) to your peripheral and you’re on the road to an immersive gaming experience.

It's important to note that this program will work with virtually any peripheral device as long as it has an input - something that other mappers just can't do.

While the program is highly customizable and fun to use, you'll want to keep a couple things in mind before you install. First, some users have reported lag (less than half a second, but that can be a lifetime when you’re in the middle of a major RTS campaign). Second, the scripting language can take a little time to master so don't expect to map everything right away if you're new to scripting.

Other than that though, GlovePIE is a fantastic way for gamers to customize and utilize their input devices and have a more immersive friendly gaming experience. If you don’t mind learning a new scripting language and want extensible options that work with gloves, mice, input tablets and more, give this program a try!

Pros

  • Customize Your Gaming Experience You can literally map any amount of key presses to whatever input device. Want to map a complex heal spell to your fifth mouse button? You can! Want to run a script that equips certain weapons? You can do that too!
  • Works with Virtually All Devices As long as your device has some kind of input you can trigger and map key presses to, chances are it’ll work with GlovePIE.
  • Highly Responsive and Easy to Modify The program has one of the lowest lag rates of comparable programs – and changing your settings is fairly easy to do on the fly once you learn the scripting language.

Cons

  • Custom Scripting Language Can be Difficult to Learn While GlovePIE’s scripting language is easier than some others, it can take time to completely master.
  • Minor Lag Issues Some users have reported up to ½ second lag times with multiple key input scripts; you’ll want to try it in a neutral situation before heading into a major campaign just to see if the controller lag is something you can deal with.
